Board & Brush Creative Studio Opens Downtown Manhattan

Jena Swanson fell in love with creating quality, unique home decor projects after attending a Board & Brush workshop in Lenexa, Kansas and knew right away that a creative studio like this would be a great fit for Manhattan. “My husband and I are K-State Alumni and he is stationed at Fort Riley, so it just felt like the right time to launch my dream.”

Board & Brush is a DIY studio where customers start with raw wood and over the course of a workshop an instructor will lead you through the process of creating your own unique decor project. Customers start by registering online where they will choose their project and enter the customizations.

Swanson said, “what I have found through my training and starting my own franchise is that Board & Brush also empowers those who attend to use tools or items they may not have experienced before, the pride they feel from accomplishing the project they chose and knowing it looks great is amazing.”

“Our business is unique because we let the customer choose each part of their project, we then help empower them to create the project, we guarantee they will receive a project they are proud to show off,” Jena said. “The lively, fun atmosphere in a Board & Brush Creative Studio creates an environment that everyone will want to join and attend over again.”

Swanson continued, “I am not personally very artistic but have always enjoyed woodworking. When I attended my first workshop I was amazed at the quality of the product as well as having personalized home decor that I was proud to hang on my wall. I wanted to bring this to others like me who love to craft.”

Workshops are 2 1/2 to 3 hours where customers can relax, have fun and create. Board & Brush celebrated their grand opening last week. Their calendar to register for the public Pick Your Project workshops is live now. Registration is available online.
