MHK Business News Is Building a Magazine

At MHK Business News, we use online media to share breaking news, like the recent closure of Tallgrass Brewery and the layoffs at LifeWatch, while documenting developments as our business community grows and evolves. Thanks to our readers and a supportive business community, we want to dive deeper into the amazing story that is Manhattan business. Print is the best medium for in-depth reporting, so MHK Business News is launching a magazine.

MHK Business News [the magazine], the only print + digital business centric publication, is dedicated to highlighting and supporting entrepreneurs, businesses, events in and around the Greater Manhattan area. We engage readers through in-depth features and high end photography on the unique business community we live and work within.

Published quarterly, each issue focuses on captivating entrepreneurs, business events, small and large businesses. We’ll feature Downtown and Aggieville developments, veteran-owned businesses, innovative companies trying new things, education columns, and company spotlights. Above all, we will focus on the growth of Manhattan and the surrounding region.

The magazine will be delivered free to Manhattan neighborhoods, available at locations throughout Manhattan, the Chamber of Commerce and the Public Library. We invite you to be on the forefront of what’s happening in our dynamic business community through MHK Business News [the magazine].

Here’s an insider look at issue 01, hitting stands February 1st, 2019.

Published by 502 Media Group, our mission is to raise the visibility of young startups, innovative local businesses, events that empower entrepreneurs, and educate the Manhattan region about our growth, our roots, and our future. The magazine is a collaboration between MHK Business News founder Josh Hicks, Blade Mages, principal and founder of 502, and Josh Brewer. Together we will connect entrepreneurs, professionals of all experience levels, and the public at large.

The result of this effort will be a wider knowledge about what our business community holds. With this knowledge, we hope to ignite a strong energy that can grow the entrepreneurial ecosystem of our region and can continue to support of our local businesses. Within the greater Manhattan area, over 10,000 copies will be distributed; 9,000 of which will be delivered directly to homes via mail. 500 are placed throughout town at area businesses, bank and service provider lobbies, Manhattan Regional Airport, area hotels, and the Chamber of Commerce.

For issue one, we hope to distribute 500 copies at the Flint Hills Regional Leaders’ Retreat.
