If you have walked through Aggieville recently, you may have noticed a mysterious development taking place next to Orange Sky Yoga. The new space, called Public Hall, aims to be a complex where you can work, socialize, and get healthy all under the same roof – it’s a place to spend the whole day.
The space at 1205 and 1207 Moro is now home to Orange Sky’s yoga, barre, and spin studio, seven rentable offices, and Public Hall Coffee. The coffee bar will serve espresso drinks and food, as well as select beer and cocktails in the evenings. Recipes include focusing on a menu of fresh ingredients carefully prepared in new ways that will taste instantly familiar.
“We’re excited to house Public Hall in this historic building and create a space that feels old and new at the same time and brings a unique vibe and cozy atmosphere to Manhattan. On top of that, it will double as a flexible space that folks can rent out for a wide range of events,” said spokesperson Taylor Carr.
Where did the name Public Hall come from? “Our team was sitting around a table one day throwing names at the wall to see if they would stick. It was such a fun moment for us, as we got to really vibe off of each other’s creative process. We came up with a few other potential names, but Public Hall was the one that we kept on going back to because it really emphasized the idea of community, which is what we’re most passionate about.”
“Friends, townies, and students have all come to us in one way or another speaking about the desire to have a place that is comfortable and community-focused. We believe Public Hall will give this wonderful town a new place to hang out together. It’s all about good vibes and helping people live their lives as best they can.
We believe the perfect mix of Orange Sky classes, good food and drink, a productive atmosphere, and that massage or cocktail you’ve earned by the end of the day will make Public Hall a space you want to settle into and stay awhile,” Carr said.
