Karen Hibbard has been named the interim president and chief executive of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce for a period between February 28th and March 25th. Lyle Butler, current President and CEO of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce will retire on February 28th followed by a Community Retirement Celebration from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at Manhattan Conference Center.
Jason Smith will enter as the new President/CEO of the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce and his first day will be March 25. Smith is relocating from Norman, OK, where he served as President/CEO of the Norman Economic Development Coalition.

Jason has been in contact with staff and board members, a process that will continue for the next six weeks so he can hit the ground running in March. Smith will meet in-person with staff and attend the Feb. 15 Chamber Annual Meeting.
Hibbard currently serves as the Director and Vice President of the Manhattan Convention & Visitors Bureau and has been in this role since 1997.
