Local Marketing Agency Wins National Awards with Kansas Clients

502, a strategic marketing agency in Manhattan, won several national awards in 2018, including four Communicator Awards from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, and three Telly Awards from the 39th Annual Telly Awards.

Reflecting on 502’s success, Agency principal Blade Mages says, “These accolades are a testament to the quality of talent we have on the 502 team as well as our solid agency-client relationships. Amazing people are behind all of the work we create with clients.”

With entries received from across the United States and around the world, the 24th Annual Communicator Awards program was the largest and most competitive awards program to honor creative excellence for communications professionals.

Derek Howard, director of the AIVA, says, “We are extremely proud to recognize the work received for the 24th Annual Communicator Awards. This year’s class of entries embodies the ever-evolving marketing and communications industry.”

502’s work with four Kansas businesses was recognized by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), an organization of over 600 leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. The agency won Awards of Excellence for their integrated branding campaign for 24/7 Travel Stores and their packaging design for Kansas Kirk’s Garden Works, a new vermiculture company. 502 also received Awards of Distinction for their website design for Cunningham Telephone and Cable and their NCK Technical College marketing campaign.

502 was also recognized as a 3-time Telly Award winner in 2018. The Telly Awards are the premier award honoring video and television across all screens. Telly’s managing director, Sabrina Dridje, says, “It is exciting to see how perfectly this year’s winners capture the innovation and energy of the rapidly changing video and television industry that we rebuilt the Telly Awards to recognize.” 502 was one of the agencies chosen by The Telly Awards Judging Council—an industry body of over 200 leading experts—from nearly 12,000 international entries.

The agency won awards for its work for Florence Corporation, “What Makes Us” (Gold Award), the Kansas Pork Association, “Field Trip to a Pig Farm” (Silver Award), and NCK Tech, “Heavy Equipment Video” (Bronze Award).

“I am incredibly proud of the creative team at 502 and the wins that we are able to earn on behalf of our clients.”
