At MHK Business News, we love to see innovative collaborations in the business scene of Manhattan. Banks and coffee shops might not be the most obvious combination choice, but one such collab has found success in the Little Apple.
In May 2017, Bank of the Flint Hills opened a new location on the west side of Manhattan in Grand Mere. What was unique about this event was that they also collaborated to bring a mom-and-pop coffee shop from Wamego with them. Paramour Coffee is a specialty coffee roasting company 25 years in the making.
Owner Jim Hovind trained under the legendary Sal Bonavita and Alfred Peet, founder of Peet’s Coffee, and created Paramour Coffee as an homage to these masters. The company’s mission is to make gourmet coffee accessible without “pretense or snobbery.”
A few months in and customers from near and far seem to love it:
@paramourcoffee is the most amazing coffee shop, not only is it beautiful in here, but they are showing HGTV on the tv in here. #ImInLove

Need to get a branded mug to go with this delicious @paramourcoffee next time I’m in town! An essential part of a balanced brunch! #Java pic.twitter.com/TKlv3VbWIc

This site features modern decor, a drive thru and also an outdoor patio. And apparently, George Strait as well:
Just going to say, not many coffee houses play @GeorgeStrait. Good job @paramourcoffee! Keep that up!
