Pool House Grand Opening Downtown Tuesday June 12th

101 years ago the first pool party in Manhattan happened at 4th and Pierre. Tomorrow, Pool House will open its doors in the same location to bring back the party.

Tiki drinks, concession stand hot dogs, crafted cocktails, and a mouth watering nacho recipe will be the highlights of Ben and Rachel Motley’s newest business in Manhattan.

The Motley’s also own Arrow Coffee Company, which has led the way in craft coffee locally the past several years. After the Arrow expansion in 2016, the couple added a cocktail lounge and began selling delightful drinks, hosting tasting events for wine, whiskey and beer.

Back To The Party

Pool House is located at 219 South 4th Street and has been recently renovated to carry out the pool theme. The original pool would have been in the basement and was built in 1917. The basement won’t be open to the public, however it certainly retains the history for the building.

“The Motleys’ inspiration for the project has been to create a beautiful space that will make patrons feel like they’ve been transported out of the Midwest,” Preserve Manhattan wrote.

The vision is a non-stop pool party. They plan to serve classed-up versions of typical pool food, such as “handmade soft pretzels, gourmet hot dogs with a bunch of unique and delicious toppings, kick-ass nachos, boozy soft serve and slushees, and whole lot more.”

They are also using Pool House to launch their mobile coffee service, Go! Arrow. They will be setting up a coffee cart on the sidewalk in front of the new space each morning from 8-12, serving with a full service espresso bar, Nitro cold brew, specialty coffee and tea drinks and fresh made pastries.

Opening Day

Starting at 2pm on Tuesday, June 12th, the Pool House will be serving poolside cuisine and cocktails. Ben and Rachel, along with their newest staff, invite you to join the party!

“My wife and I have always felt that Manhattan is an awesome city. We’ve got such a cool mix of people in different life stages and from different backgrounds. We want to be a part of bringing fun and unique things to the people of Manhattan and keep things fresh by developing new concepts and offering new and different products,” Ben said in a previous article we wrote.

“We are just so excited to get this place open to party with our friends and make new ones along the way!”
