Premier Chiropractic & The Crisis Center Partner to Help the Community

Premier Chiropractic & Wellness efforts raised $10,000 to further the organization’s mission in the Manhattan region.

Manhattan, KS (February 1, 2019, Press Release) Semi-annually Premier Chiropractic & Wellness, owned and operated by Manhattan residents Dr. Dean and Felicia Dierksen, choose a worthy local organization to highlight in their office and raise funds for. Their first gift of 2019 will go to The Crisis Center, which has been serving victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault in Clay, Geary, Marshall, Pottawatomie, and Riley Counties since 1979.

“We really appreciate and depend on community partnerships,” said Executive Director Judy Davis, accepting the donation at a celebration on Thursday afternoon, January 31st. “This is huge. We depend on gifts from generous donors- often $50 and $100 gifts from people for whom that’s a lot of money.” Judy went on to say that The Crisis Center had a gap in their current budget due to a generous donor who usually gives a large annual donation. “We didn’t know what we were going to do and this check helps to fill that gap. We’re overwhelmed.”

For Premier Chiropractic, it’s just part of their model. Dr. Dean Dierksen explained, “We decided a long time ago to donate the proceeds of all first appointments to a great local charity. Patients’ first visit includes a consultation, exam by the doctor, and x-rays if necessary. 100% of that money goes to the charity we’re highlighting during that period.” Dr. Dierksen went on to describe how that approach makes their patients feel good about not only taking the time to care for themselves, but also helping others in the process.

“It’s important to us to support the health of our community. It’s just good business for us,” Dr. Dierksen shared. “We’re happy to help.”

Now that the fundraising campaign has wrapped for The Crisis Center, Premier Chiropractic is turning their efforts to support the Flint Hills Community Center, which serves the health and wellness needs of the medically underserved by providing quality, compassionate, and personalized care.
