Sink, Gordon & Associates LLP Adds Six Partners

Local accounting firm Sink, Gordon & Associates LLP announces the addition of six new partners: John Albrecht, Seth Gordon, Tom Martin, Justin Minchow, Lori Murray and Russell Shipley.

All six graduated from Kansas State University and three interned with SGA during college. They each have advanced certifications or other credentials.

The new partners excelled as Senior Managers, including technical aspects and productivity. They live in three different counties and five zip code areas, reflecting the firm’s regional presence. All are active in professional and community organizations.

New partners, in alphabetical order:

  • John Albrecht, CPA/PFS. Albrecht joined the firm after graduation and specializes in income, estate, and trust taxation and planning. He also hopes to expand SGA’s personal financial planning clients. Professionally, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA). Effective Jan. 1, Albrecht was named the new SGA Quality Control Partner.

  • Seth Gordon, CVA and CMAA. Seth Gordon interned with SGA during college and previously worked as vice president at a local bank, managing their mortgage loan division. Since joining SGA full time, he has led the firm’s Business Valuations and Consulting Division. He is active in the local community, including board president for the Pawnee Mental Health Foundation; member of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation Young Trustees; Treasurer & Foster Family for the Riley County Humane Society; and is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Manhattan.

  • Tom Martin, CPA. Martin worked for SGA as an intern prior to becoming a full time staff member. He works with small businesses and individuals on tax and accounting projects and is one of SGA’s real estate experts. Professionally, Martin is a member of the AICPA, KSCPA and the Public Accountants Association of Kansas (PAAK). He previously served as PAAK President and is currently a member of the Clay Center Rotary Club.

  • Justin Minchow, CPA. Minchow worked in Wichita after graduation prior to joining SGA. He works with small businesses and individuals on tax and accounting projects and is an expert on the firm’s practice management system. He also works with the firm’s banking clients. Professionally, Minchow is a member of the AICPA and KSCPA. He serves the community as a Konza United Way board member and is a member of the Manhattan Young Professionals.

  • Lori Murray, CPA. Murray worked for SGA as an intern prior to becoming a full time staff member. She specializes in accounting and income taxes for restaurants and other small businesses. Professionally, Murray is a member of the AICPA and PAAK.

  • Russell Shipley, CPA, CFE, CGFM and CGMA. Shipley worked in Topeka after graduation, prior to joining SGA. He works almost exclusively on financial statements and audits. Effective Jan. 1, Shipley was named the new SGA Audit Partner. Professionally, he is a member of the KCSPA and helps with their committee events. He also is an active member of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation Young Trustees.
